I want to tell you about a normal week in my life, so you can get a view of a Danish student’s life. I will tell you about this current week, but it could have been any week of the month.
Every Monday-Friday I get out of my bed 07:20 and I go brush my teeth, put make-up on and eat breakfast, and then I am ready to go to the bus. The travel time takes about fifteen minutes. Then I go to school, and a normal school day ends at 03:40 pm.
This is how my school schedule for the week looks like:
Now I want to tell about my spare time, each day in the week:
Monday: I was at home with a very good friend of mine, Pervoneh, who lives about 20-25 kilometers away from my house. We didn’t do much actually. We just talked, laughed and watched television. For dinner we had spaghetti and meatballs. It is a usual thing to have for dinner in Denmark.
Tuesday: I was with my boyfriend, Nicklas who also is a student in the class. We also talked, laughed and watched television. My boyfriend and I have been together for about seven months, and when it becomes August, we are moving in together in an apartment near our school, so I don’t have to take the bus every morning.
Wednesday: I was home with another good friend of mine, Helene, who lives in the city Ebeltoft, which is about 15 kilometers away from my house. We helped each other do our homework, talked with her very sweet mother, and went into the city, to have some very delicious ice-cream! For dinner we had a Danish specialty, frikadeller! It is a kind of meatballs, but is crispier than normal meatballs. It is very delicious! When we were going to sleep, we heard a very annoying sound. It was a mosquito. We spent half an hour trying to kill it.
Tuesday: This is today. Today I am with my boyfriend again. I am doing homework and my boyfriend is playing a computer game. Today I have to take care of my little sister and little brother, who are respectively four and seven years old, because my stepfather is working and my mother is at the gym. Because of the same reason I also have to make dinner, and I am going to make something called pita-bread. It is bread with space inside, where you can to put vegetables, meat and dressing in.
Friday: This day we finish early at school. Maybe afterwards I will go down to the park with a lot of friends, where we take some carpets and a radio with us, and we are going to sit and have a good time together. Afterwards my boyfriend and I are going to eat at his parents’ house.
Saturday: This day, I am just going to relax with my boyfriend. Maybe we are going to watch some movies or play some games with my siblings in the garden. Really, we are not going to do much this day.
Sunday: This day I maybe am going to a theme park called Djurs Sommerland, with my boyfriend and his little sister who is twelve years old. By the way Djurs Sommerland is also the park where I work. I sell French fries, burgers and soda. In the evening I have to go to a barbecue with the other students in my class. We are going to eat dinner together, listen to some music, play games and just have fun with each other.
