Hello,
I’m Joshua and I am 18 years old. I live in an apartment with my girlfriend in the center of Grenaa. I have three sisters, whom are both younger than I. Elena is 15, Natasja is 13 and Melissa is 10. They live with both of my parents in a house, also in the center of Grenaa.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to have any pets in our apartment, so the only pets I “have”, is my parents two dogs called Maggie and Puppy.
My girlfriend is named Iben, and goes to same Gymnasium as I. She is just a second grader, and I am a first grader. She is also a bit older than I am – she is 19.
When Iben and I don’t go to school, we work at a supermarket called Netto. Netto is placed not very far from were we live, so that is very practical.
Besides Netto as an income, Iben and I are old enough to get something called SU (Statens uddannelsestøttelse – It is not possible to translate it directly, but to give it a try, it means; the states supportment to people taking an education). SU is a sort of payment to students who gets an education. It is possible for everyone to get SU, but you have to be 18 years or older to get it. Your SU is calculated by looking how far away you live from your parents (or if you live with them still), and the distance you have to school. I live in the center of Grenaa, as I mentioned before – therefore my SU is not very high.
As you’ve might guessed, my name is not very Danish. I was born in the United States of America. My mother is a Danish woman named Ann, and my father is an American called Timothy Jon. They live together in Denmark, as I’ve might mentioned before. That also means that half of my family does not live in Denmark, but in the States. I’ve lived all of my life in Denmark, so I do not have an American accent, and my traditions are almost pure Danish – there are of course a few exceptions, but not anything radical.
Besides Netto and school, I go to fitness as often as possible. It’s a place where you can exercise, learn how to live healthier and so on. I love to explore my own binderies, and to know how much your body can actually handle.
If you have any questions, or something you wonder about, I would love to answer. So comment everything you are in doupt about!
- Joshua. :)
